At Palazzo Baroni, on Wednesday 9 April, a conference dedicated to The pedagogical-educational curriculum at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, part of the initiatives for the 850th anniversary of Unimore.

On the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the Department of Education and Human Sciences of Reggio Emilia is organising, on Wednesday 9 April at 2 p.m. (Room 1.4, Palazzo Baroni), a study conference dedicated to “The pedagogical-educational curriculum at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia”.

The conference aims to reconstruct the events surrounding the birth of the pedagogical-educational programme at the Reggio Emilia branch of Unimore. Starting from the season that led to the creation of the Faculty of Education in 2004, which later became the Department of Education and Human Sciences, the focus will be on the one hand on the national context of transformation of the pedagogical-educational component in universities that began in the previous decade, and on the other hand on the continuous and lasting relationships with the territory and on the evolution of the various disciplines also in relation to the educational needs of the user area of the various curricula in which the Department is divided today.

In the presence of the Rector Carlo Adolfo Porro, lecturers from the Department of Education and Human Sciences will speak: Anna Maria Contini (Head of Department), Federico Ruozzi (President of the Reggio Emilia Institution of Preschools and Nurseries), Nicola Barbieri, Roberta Cardarello, Simona Salustri, Carlo Altini (President of the Master’s Degree Programme in Pedagogical Sciences), Andrea Mariuzzo, Chiara Bertolini

Ms Marwa Mahmoud, Councillor for Educational Policies, will bring greetings from the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. The conference is sponsored by the Inter-University Centre for the history of Italian Universities.
